We enjoyed our vegetables, gumbo and the cornbread was outstanding. Service was great. I'm surprised it was not busy as we were there in the middle of the noon hour.
Great food and excellent service. It was my first time visiting and they were good in explaining how it works and giving recommendations. You can choose a meat and up to five sides, with a choice of bread, desert and a drink. The price was very good with the amount of food and great it tasted. I went when they had Turkey and dressing and it was phenomenal. The food is seasoned perfect. No complaints
As a Mississippian native and Houston resident, I love some good soul food, especially at a reasonable price!!! This place is the definition of a home cooked meal! What I also appreciate is how they offer a variety of food. There was so much to choose from. And they offer different combo options so you can get as many sides as you want! The staff were very kind. I believe they were all family. You can tell that the community really enjoys this food by the way people were constantly coming in. I got their chicken dressing that came with a chicken thigh. For my sides, I got their collard greens, glazed carrots (so good!), mac & cheese and an extra side of broccoli rice & cheese casserole. It came with cornbread, a dessert, and ice cream. You can feed a family with that. And it was all under $20. Houston would never! The quality of the food was delicious!!! Seasoned well and full of flavor. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant whenever you can!

4919 34th Street, across from Coronado School District. Open Tuesday-Sunday. Home cooking that will make your tastebuds dance. Buffet available. Plate options. Seafood options. Clean environment. Plenty of open seats. Natural lighting brings a well lighted area. Greeted with smiling faces and quick service. I was very pleased with our meal. The kids and grandkids loved the food as well.
This place is great! Great homemade food and you choose what you want. They were so friendly and helped me because it was my first time. I'll be back as often as I can. It all reminds me of happier times going to a cafeteria with my grandparents.
Second visit to Docs don't know when they reopened here but I sure am glad they did. I visited here the fri before Christmas with the family and food was great. Today's visit I was looking for some healthy quick food. Ok maybe sorta healthy b ut great tasting. Lunch specials 11-2 Thurs - Sun choice of meat w 2 sides drink and bread for $9 beats all the fast food out there. If your really hungry they have their 1stop Buffett your choice of meat w up to 5 sides, bread & dessert for $13. I'm not a little man and I couldn't squeeze my dessert in it had to make the trip home. This restaurant is part of Lee's family, bucket of love chicken, & royal seafood.
